UNB MENSTRUAL HEALTH SOCIETY
SCHOOL OUTREACH
The School Outreach Team is seeking high school and middle school partnerships to support our community partners as well as provide educational workshops or presentations to students
Initiative 1: Menstrual Health Education Presentations
What?
Provide educational menstrual health sessions to schools, with a focus on reducing period stigma and menstrual product sustainability.
Why?
Desire fueled by the lack of menstrual health education we received in the NB public school system ourselves. The hope is that our young volunteers (university students), being close in age to students, will benefit by creating the relatable and comfortable environment that we sought when we were in their shoes.
Initiative 2: Fundraising for Community Partners
What?
We are in the process of establishing community partnerships (homeless shelters, and other community groups) and aim to support their need for period products with fundraisers and donation drives in partnership with schools.
Why?
As a society, one of our main objectives is to reduce period poverty not only on the UNB campus but also within the community.
Dear Educators:
If all or some of these initiatives are of interest to you, we would love to establish a connection with your school over the summer which will allow us to collaborate during the upcoming academic year of 2022-2023.
